Detailed information on all programs including tuition, fees and instrument rental can be found on the GRSM @ Saint Mary’s webpage.

Starting in mid-September, the Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM) will provide music instruction through private, semi-private and group lessons for students of all ages at Saint Mary’s Catholic School for the 2021-2022 school year, as well as through the   GRSM Band Program   for students in grades 4-8.

Registration forms  are due ASAP for Lessons (scheduling this week!) and Monday, August 30th for Band programs.

The GRSM Band Program is a year long program which begins the second (full) week of September and culminates with the Spring Concert in May.  There are a minimum of 30 teaching sessions provided during the academic year, consisting of lessons, rehearsals, school performances and concerts.

Sectional lessons for Beginning and Concert Band students will be held during the school day in 30-minute blocks in a rotating schedule  (different time each week of the month as registration numbers allow), unless otherwise requested by your school administration. For 2021-2022, the  Symphonic Band students will meet after the Concert & Symphonic rehearsal, in order to avoid missing academic classes during the day .

Thursdays 3:00-4:00pm Concert & Symphonic Bands rehearsal

Thursdays 4:00-4:30pm Symphonic Band only

Music Lessons for students K-8 are currently available. Instruments include keyboard, piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, violin, cello, brass, woodwinds and band percussion as listed below. Recitals (and for Band students, concerts) are included in GRSM tuition rates and will be held at the end of each semester for all registered students who are interested. Lesson schedules will be emailed the week before each student’s first lesson.

Faithful Citizenship Resources In anticipation of Election Day on November 5, the Virginia Catholic Conference has prepared voter education resources to help Catholics confidently vote with an informed conscience. Those resources can be found on the Catholic Diocese of Richmond's website . School Day Reminders This year, Election Day is a regular school day with a regular bell schedule at Saint Mary's Catholic School. In prior years, it has coincided with Parent-Teacher Conferences resulting in a day-off for students; however, that is not the case this school year. Many of our students across all grade levels are aware of the importance of Election Day. We anticipate the days leading up to Election Day and those following it will provide topics of conversation that students may choose to engage in both inside and outside the classroom. If necessary, our teachers may offer age-appropriate explanations of the day's events and results. As family members, we encourage you to guide your children as they navigate their thoughts and feelings over the coming weeks and months.
