Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register my student?

To register your child, click here.

When is the Fun Run and can I attend to cheer on my child? UPDATED 9/17!

Yes, parents are invited to cheer from the sidelines during the Fun Run on Friday, September 20th. RUN TIMES are as follows: JK @ 8:30am, K-2 @ 9:30am, 3-5 @ 12:30pm, 6-8 COLOR RUN @ 1:45pm.

Where will the Fun Run take place? What happens if it rains?

The run will be staged in the field between Pinchbeck Elementary School and our Church parking lot. In case of inclement weather, we will move the runs inside and they will become Student-Only events due to space constraints. The Fun Runs will be indoor Fun Runs and the Color Run for Middle School will become an indoor Glow Run.

When will Mrs. Esparza be slimed if we get donations from all 50 states? When will Mr. C, Mrs. V and Mr. Schaefer be "dunked" if we reach $40,000 by Fun Run Friday?

Mrs. Esparza will be slimed at 2:15pm on Fun Run Friday and our teachers will be "dunked" on a future date to be announced on Fun Run Friday!

Where should I park if I want to watch the Fun Run or Color Run?

Please refer to this map and only park in the green sections so that there is ample parking for Daily Mass attendees.

When will students receive their Fun Run T-shirts?

Students will receive their t-shirts at school on Tuesday, September 17th and should arrive at school wearing their Fun Run shirts and PE shorts on Sept 20th.

What distance is the run? Are children required to fundraise in order to participate?

Students can run or walk a few laps or the entire 35 lap maximum (which is equivalent to 10,000 steps). There is no required fundraising amount to participate in the Fun Run and all students will receive a Fun Run T-shirt!

How do pledges work if donors pledge funds per lap instead of a flat donation amount?

Pledges can be made per lap completed by the student (even if students don't run all 35, it will default to 35). So if a donor pledges $1 per lap, they will donate $35 total.

What is the difference between the JK-5 Fun Run and the Color Run for Middle School students?

Middle School students will get messy (and so might the spectators depending on wind)! Students may bring a change of clothes for after their race. It's a good idea to have them bring a bag to put their color run messy clothes in as well! The photo below is from a Color Run and shows the colored powder used.

Faithful Citizenship Resources In anticipation of Election Day on November 5, the Virginia Catholic Conference has prepared voter education resources to help Catholics confidently vote with an informed conscience. Those resources can be found on the Catholic Diocese of Richmond's website . School Day Reminders This year, Election Day is a regular school day with a regular bell schedule at Saint Mary's Catholic School. In prior years, it has coincided with Parent-Teacher Conferences resulting in a day-off for students; however, that is not the case this school year. Many of our students across all grade levels are aware of the importance of Election Day. We anticipate the days leading up to Election Day and those following it will provide topics of conversation that students may choose to engage in both inside and outside the classroom. If necessary, our teachers may offer age-appropriate explanations of the day's events and results. As family members, we encourage you to guide your children as they navigate their thoughts and feelings over the coming weeks and months.
