5 donors issued a $12,500
matching challenge!

While 2020 has come with challenges, it’s also brought silver linings. At Saint Mary’s we have been able to return to in-person instruction. The dedication and resilience of our teachers and families are matched by our students’ joy at being back at school.

You can see smiles in the eyes above our students’ masks.  Despite social distancing, the strength and generous spirit of the Saint Mary’s community connects us no matter how far apart we stand.  As a member of our family, you have helped us navigate this challenging time by sharing with us your love, optimism and faith. Together, we are part of something bigger than the challenges that 2020 brings our way.

Now is the time of year for the Annual Fund appeal at Saint Mary’s. The Annual Fund is built into the school’s budget each year; the fund allows us to cover operating expenses and keep tuition costs down. This year’s goal is $65,000.

Please help us to meet and even exceed our goal by contributing to Saint Mary’s Catholic School Annual Fund at whatever level you are able. You may give online or by check made out to SMCS with Annual Fund ’20-’21 in the memo line.

These five donors will match every dollar you give!

Your participation makes a difference to each student and teacher at Saint Mary’s Catholic School! If you have any questions, please contact Development Coordinator, Jennifer Janus.

Faithful Citizenship Resources In anticipation of Election Day on November 5, the Virginia Catholic Conference has prepared voter education resources to help Catholics confidently vote with an informed conscience. Those resources can be found on the Catholic Diocese of Richmond's website . School Day Reminders This year, Election Day is a regular school day with a regular bell schedule at Saint Mary's Catholic School. In prior years, it has coincided with Parent-Teacher Conferences resulting in a day-off for students; however, that is not the case this school year. Many of our students across all grade levels are aware of the importance of Election Day. We anticipate the days leading up to Election Day and those following it will provide topics of conversation that students may choose to engage in both inside and outside the classroom. If necessary, our teachers may offer age-appropriate explanations of the day's events and results. As family members, we encourage you to guide your children as they navigate their thoughts and feelings over the coming weeks and months.
