CARPOOL SAFETY UPDATES & REMINDERS

Katie Botha • Oct 19, 2023

As we close out the first quarter of instruction, it is important that we share the following reminders and clarifications regarding morning and afternoon carpool to ensure the safety of all students, staff and family members.

GENERAL CARPOOL GUIDELINES:

  • Please remain hyper vigilant of your surroundings at all times.
  • Please refrain from cell phone use unless safely parked.
  • Please remain respectful and gracious with all staff members and volunteers. If you have a concern, please share it with our Administrators (Mrs. Esparza or Mrs. Dahl).
  • Vehicle speed in parking lots should NEVER exceed 15 miles per hour. Our recommended carpool speed limit is 5 to 10 miles per hour.

FRONT CARPOOL REMINDERS:

Drop off starts at 7:30am and ends at 7:55am. Arrivals after 8am must check in at the front office with a parent or guardian. Afternoon pick up starts at 2:45pm.

  • Please do not
    • drop off your children until a staff member or carpool volunteer is on duty.
    • drop off your children before the “safe zone” which is made visible by the placement of neon SLOW flag holders and traffic cones.
    • pull around stopped cars in line in front of you unless directed by school staff members or carpool volunteers.

BACK CARPOOL REMINDERS:

Drop off starts at 7:30am and ends at 7:55am. Arrivals after 7:55am should check in at the front office with a parent or guardian. Afternoon pick up starts at 2:30pm for JK and K (no siblings); 2:45 for all other ECDC and Middle School students. The back parking lot will be opened by staff once it has been cleared of all class or recess activity.

  • Please do not
    • move traffic cones to enter the parking lot at any time; they will be moved by a staff member.
    • pull around stopped cars in line in front of you unless directed by school staff members or carpool volunteers.

Thank you for keeping our campus safe!
