Fourth graders visited Jamestown Settlement last week to see firsthand how Powhatan Indian, English and West Central African cultures converged in early Virginia. Outdoors, they discovered daily life in 17th-century re-creations of a Paspahegh town, aboard three ships – Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery, and in a re-created fort in the Jamestown colony.
