ALBUM: Research, Design, Create & Collaborate

Students in Mrs. Morris’ fifth grade class researched, painted and wrote about planets and moon phases in their science class this month in preparation for projects they later presented in class. Already these students are preparing to successfully bridge into our IB program as sixth graders next school year.

Eighth graders in Mr. Tlusty’s technology class worked on hydroponic growing system blueprints for seeds that were recently sent to near space on a high altitude balloon from the NASA Scientific Balloon Flight Facility in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico thanks to our school’s affiliation with the Cubes in Space Program!

Our three cubes have made the journey from Richmond, to NASA Langley, to New Mexico, to space, back to Langley and back home to Richmond this week where students will conduct their grow experiments with the newly returned seeds. 3D plastics will be sent to an external lab for testing.
