GAME REMINDERS: LET’S GO NUTZ!

Katie Botha • April 9, 2024

A few game night reminders for all families attending the Community Reading Night Game on Wednesday, April 10th:

  • Gates open at 5:00pm – come early if you want to participate in the pre-game Reading parade!
  • The pre-game Reading parade starts as soon as we can get onto the field (5:15-5:30 parade start)
  • Each reading night game will have about 20-25 schools that will be highlighted.
  • Game starts at 6:35pm
  • Parking at The Diamond parking lot is $8 per vehicle, there is also a GRTC bus stop right in front of the ballpark.
  • Additional tickets can still be purchased in advance using this link – we strongly encourage families to purchase extra tickets early as these game nights do tend to sell out!
  • All student tickets are general admission.
  • General admission tickets allow you to sit anywhere in our gold seats in the 2nd level of the ballpark. These sections run from 201 – 217.
  • Please try and sit in/near 205 so that we can sit together as a school.
  • Children age 3 and under do not require a ticket to get in, unless they want their own seat.

Faithful Citizenship Resources In anticipation of Election Day on November 5, the Virginia Catholic Conference has prepared voter education resources to help Catholics confidently vote with an informed conscience. Those resources can be found on the Catholic Diocese of Richmond's website . School Day Reminders This year, Election Day is a regular school day with a regular bell schedule at Saint Mary's Catholic School. In prior years, it has coincided with Parent-Teacher Conferences resulting in a day-off for students; however, that is not the case this school year. Many of our students across all grade levels are aware of the importance of Election Day. We anticipate the days leading up to Election Day and those following it will provide topics of conversation that students may choose to engage in both inside and outside the classroom. If necessary, our teachers may offer age-appropriate explanations of the day's events and results. As family members, we encourage you to guide your children as they navigate their thoughts and feelings over the coming weeks and months.
