Saint Mary’s celebrated the talents that are a true blessing to our school on Friday, February 21st.  After a social gathering, we were invited to the chapel to hear the beautiful voices of Fr. Renninger and Mrs. Taylor, accompanied by Joe Lenich (piano), Sharon Katzman (violin) and Suzanne (cello).  One guest commented that, “I have been present for all of the musical events scheduled for the 50th anniversary, and this was better than any of those performances.”

Following the entertainment, Coach Bobby Ross spoke about his experiences growing up in Richmond and attending Catholic Schools.  Attending Saint Paul’s and Benedictine prepared Coach Ross for an extraordinary career in football.  Coach Ross told stories about the influential teachers in his life, and the tremendous impact those teachers had on his family and career.  How fortunate Saint Mary’s is that Coach Ross is an active member of our faith community.

Before returning to the upper commons for continued socializing, Joyce Schreiber briefly explained the Scholarship Tax Credit program now available to support Saint Mary’s students.  This program allows individuals and businesses to make significant contributions in support of a Catholic Education at Saint Mary’s with a considerable tax advantage.  Additional information will be available on the Saint Mary’s website shortly.

The evening was indeed a very special event that highlighted the talents and skills in our community.  A special thank you to the school board, PTO board and so many others who made this evening a delightful and productive opportunity to gather in support of the school’s annual appeal.  Additional information on the annual appeal can be found on the website.
