Despite this year turned tapsal-teerie, the Spelling Bee will happen at Saint Mary’s Catholic School!
READ ON FOR THE OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM MRS. LAVALLEE

Dear Parents,
This year, the Scripps National Spelling Bee has developed an online testing platform that will allow Saint Mary’s Catholic School to host a school spelling bee program, whether your children are learning in classrooms or remotely from your homes.
In place of our traditional spelling bee program, we will hold one classroom level of competition through online spelling tests. These tests will be completed during regular Library class periods during the week of January 25 – 29. Any students learning at home during these dates may complete the test at home with a parent proctor.
The student from each classroom with the highest score will be announced as the classroom winner. Classroom winners from grades 6 – 8 will then move on to compete at the school level. This year, our school-level competition will be administered either via online test or in-person Spelling bee on Friday, February 12th.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions about our school spelling bee program. I look forward to continuing this long-standing SMCS tradition!
Sincerely,
Ms. Spring Lavallee, MLS
