Very IMPORTANT: All families are required to fill our an EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION form, if you have done so, please fill it out and have it brought to school on Monday. Emergency Notification Form
School Pictures: School Pictures (individual and group) will take place on Wednesday, September 20th. Children will wear their uniforms – not PE uniforms – and boys will wear long pants. If you would like to volunteer to help with pictures, please email Heather at email@example.com An ordering link will be sent out soon.
Carpool: Carpool signs must be hung in the window where they are visible. NO CAR should pull out of line and go around cars not yet loaded. Patience is so very important, but not as important as keeping our students safe. Please review our carpool policy Click Here

School Grounds during a school event: During school events, all children must be supervised at all times by a parent, this includes activity in the hallways or outside on the playground.

Facebook Accounts: Please note we were notified by the Richmond Diocese that there are a number of accounts set up for Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Richmond VA. We have been tasked with finding and notifying owners of rogue accounts, to please close them. We have two SMCS Facebook accounts, our official Facebook at Saint Mary’s Catholic School – Richmond and SMCS Community – Richmond VA. Our Official Facebook is used as another communication tool from the school to our families. The community Facebook is used for parent communications.

Our Saint Mary’s Catholic School Choir performs throughout the year at various school and community events. This year we are excited to announce that will be performing again with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in a special Christmas concert to be held on December 6th here in the church. Practices start Thursday September 7, after school until 3:30PM for Choir and 4:00 for Cantor. Please email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
SMCS New Band Program: Greater Richmond School of Music offers instructors that have received degrees from some of the finest music schools and performed with major orchestras, jazz ensembles, and chamber ensembles. Go Forth 5K Tag Day: The Saint Mary’s classroom with the most associated registration for the Go Forth 5K by end of school on Friday, September 8 will win a SWEET cinnamon roll party from C&C’s Cinnamon Rolls, with specialty coffee from The 21 Hundred for the teacher! There’s also a $10 gift certificate up for grabs, to be awarded to one randomly selected family that registers by end of school on September 8. (T-shirt only purchases do not count as a registration. Knights of Columbus Middle School Dance: Back to School Dance Friday, September 8, 7:30 – 9:30PM. Dress Code: casual. Tshirts, jeans and shorts are fine. Students bring: required permission slip, $5, and one canned good (donated to Little Sisters of the Poor) Please walk your students into the gym before the dance and also come to the gym to pick them up. The permission slip will be distributed at school the week of the dance, will be available at the dance entrance.
Parent Volunteers are needed to help decorate at 6:30 pm, provide refreshments, chaperone, and clean up.

ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH EVENTS:
10th Anniversary of the Dedication of St. Mary Catholic Church
Please join us on Wed., Sept. 13th for Mass at 5 pm followed by a wonderful reception in the Upper Commons. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and Rappahannock Oysters, wine and other beverages served. We will have tours of the Church and show a video clip of Fr. Mike and Fr. Lewis giving a tour of our beautiful Church, Upper Commons and Chapels. If you are not yet a registered family with St. Mary Church, we invite you to our parish registration which takes place monthly on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 pm in the Bishop Sullivan Room (lower level of the Church). During this one-hour program led by Fr. Renninger, you will meet other parishioners, our Pastor and staff, receive an introduction to St. Mary’s Parish, complete the registration forms and enjoy refreshments afterwards. Child care is provided. Our next registration will take place on September 10, 2017.
