Dear Saint Mary’s Families,

Today’s Friday Flash has a lot of information included.  Even as the author I have had to go back and read and reference information in it multiple times.  I ask that you please read everything carefully both in this Friday Flash as well as on the web page to which you are being directed.

You should have already received an email today with your child’s teacher or homeroom teacher for the year.

We will be having Meet the Teacher.  Due to construction we have not officially set the date and time for Meet the Teacher, but it is tentatively set for the afternoon of Friday, August 24th.  As soon as we have definitive information about Meet the Teacher, we will get that to you.

The Back to School Information page on our web site has been updated.  This is where you will find the 2018-2019 key dates calendar as well as information about ParentsWeb, Student Fees, Lunches, Milk, Clinic information, Carpool and After School Care.

Some things that are new this year are listed below.  Details about all of these things can be found on the Back to School Information page.

  • In order to make your life easier each family will be billed a student fee of $50 per child.
  • We are excited to announce that lunch will be provided this year on Monday through Thursday by Morrissey’s and pizza will be provided on Friday by J. Rocco’s Pizza.  Chef Gene remains with us and will be serving lunch everyday.
  • Due to construction there will be some changes to carpool at the start of the school year.

Speaking of construction, yes, they are making great progress.  No, they aren’t yet finished. The rain has caused some delays, but thankfully this has mostly impacted the construction of the front entrance and the renovation of the administrative offices.

Those of us who are here everyday see progress each and every day.  While we know things won’t be perfect, we will start school on August 27th.  I ask that you be patient and gentle with all of us as there will be a lot of activity still going on as the year begins.

While the elementary classrooms will be complete, the resource rooms will be delayed a bit and the front entrance and administrative area will be delayed considerably.  This means that we will not be able to start using the new front entrance until later in September.

Until the front entrance is complete, the main entrance to the school will be in the back. Folks that stop by during the day will enter through the back middle school doors.  Mrs. Camilla Alipanah will be there in the morning and Mrs. Lisa Flint or Mrs. Heather Heishman will be there in the afternoons to greet our visitors.

I ask for your continued prayers for all of us at Saint Mary’s, as well as all those involved in construction and preparing the school for our students.  It is going to be a great year!

Joyfully,
Jenni Ellis
Principal
