Sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association. National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Schools observe the week with Mass, and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the Chruch, local communities and the nation.
This year Saint Mary’s will celebrate building a community through Christ.
Saint Mary’s will celebrate starting with a great family (School and Parishioner) gathering opportunity on Saturday January 27th. Our 9th annual Dad’s Chili Cook Off.
Our older and younger students will work together on a Bible story and decorate Gala Invitations and/or write his/her best memory or favorite part of Saint Mary’s.
Middle School Students will participate in a Blue and White mile long run. Our Elementary students will cheer them on with Blue and White items.
Students will celebrate being part of the larger group of Catholic Schools.
Students will write thank you notes to our church staff.
We will end our CSW with “Bible Jeopardy”.
Catholic Schools have the unique opportunity to celebrate through Prayer and worship.
Monday January 29th – We will pray for our Communities and Civic Leaders.
Tuesday January 30th – We will pray for our Students
Wednesday January 31st – We will pray for Catholic Schools and our Nation.
Thursday February 1st – We will pray for our Vocations
Friday February 2nd – We will pray for Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers
God has called us to be good stewards, to share our time, talents and treasures. Through our openness to learn, serve and lead we offer our prayers and ourselves.
Lord, we thank you for the mission of Catholic education, where we have the opportunity to hear your call. Through our caring words and actions, may they see your love for them. We ask in your Son Jesus’ name.
