Lord, you are truly the Savior of the world;

give me living water, that I may never thirst again.

John 4:42, 15

Dear Saint Mary’s families,

COVID-19 has created a rapidly evolving environment where decisions are being made quickly in the interest of public health.  While much of the attention has been focused on individual positive test results, we are just as concerned about the potential exposure to our students and staff.  As a result, the school will follow the policy shared below.

Saint Mary’s Catholic School will suspend all regularly scheduled school events beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.  This includes field trips, after school care, athletic practices and games.  The current plan is for the school to remain closed until Friday, March 27, 2020.  As this event evolves the decision to reopen will be based on the most current available data.  Personnel will be on campus to maintain critical operations.

We realize that this will be an inconvenience for our familiesbut trust that this decision is made with the health and safety of our students and staff in mind and allows us to create “social distancing” as recommended by both state and federal authorities.

Teachers will gather Monday to work toward our shared goal of high-quality, subject specific and developmentally appropriate remote learning.  You can plan for teachers to reach out with instructional content by Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

We know that some families may be planning overseas travel in the next few weeks.  Please be aware that the school will follow CDC overseas travel guidance.  These include a 14 day self-quarantine period. The guidance also includes avoiding non-essential travel at this time.

In closing, please know that we remain committed to the education and safety of our students, staff, and families.  As I said yesterday, your commitment to each other and Saint Mary’s is why I know we will get through this together.

May God Bless each of you and Saint Mary’s Catholic School.

Best regards,

Brandon
