NEWS/EVENTS/NEED TO KNOW:
2019/20 School Year calendar: We have created a concise one page calendar for easy reference.
2019/20 Back To School Information: All of the back to school information can be found on the website.
2019/20 School Year Uniform: A committee of parents was formed to discuss the current uniforms. A few minor changes were suggested.
- JK-5 girls — Fall/Spring seasonal option — Navy skort paired with light blue polo
- Middle School — Brown Sperry/boat shoe option for both boys and girls
- All school — Navy leggings — no SMCS screen print required
- Review our SMCS Uniform information Guide for uniform details.
- Combining the upgraded HVAC in the renovation and providing the skort/polo addition, we are able to eliminate the PE uniform option on hotter days.
Front Carpool Needed For Monday!:
Students dismissing in front carpool: Please have a sign approximately 8 1/2″ X 11″ with your student’s last name written clearly. Front carpool signs need to be displayed on the windshield. ECDC parents should hold their sign up for the teachers to see at the ECDC doors.
Kick Off – Cookout TONIGHT!:

Join your SMCS PTO as we begin the 2019-2020 school year with our annual Kick-Off Cook-Out!
Thisyear’s Cook-Out will be held Friday, August 23rd from 6-8 PM in the Parish Hall (please enter through the side entrance).

Lunchroom Volunteers Needed:
Welcome Back to School! Parents – are you looking to get involved , see your child and help out in a much needed way? We need you to help with lunch coverage. Each month will be assigned to grade levels; however, August is open to everyone! Please consider helping in this much needed area.
CHOIR:
Is your student interested in participating in our SMCS Choir? Music is a passion that Mrs. Moretti loves to share with students. Please find more information in the Choir Handbook and use the Choir Registration Form to join.
Painless Fundraising Update:
The easiest way to help earn money for our school is by making purchases through companies like Kroger, Amazon and Publix. Please see the Painless Fundraising flyer for more information.
GRSM Band Program for 2019-2020:
The GRSM Band Program is a Full Year* program which begins the second week of September and culminates with the Spring Concert in May. There are a minimum of 30 teaching sessions provided during the academic year, consisting of lessons, rehearsals, school performances and concerts.Sectional lessons for Beginning and Concert Band students will be held during the school day in 30-minute blocks in a rotating schedule (different time each week of the month), unless otherwise requested by your school administration. For 2019-2020, the Symphonic Band students will meet after the Concert & Symphonic rehearsal, in order to avoid missing academic classes during the day. 3:00-4:00pm Concert & Symphonic Bands rehearsal, 4:00-4:30pm Symphonic Band only. Championship Chess Fall Session:
Chess Class begins Friday, September 6th after school from 3pm to 4pm. Please see the Chess Class Information and Enrollment Form.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church Events:
“A Concert with David Haas” St. Mary Catholic Church would like to invite you and your families to a concert with David Haas. David will present “I will Bring You Home; Songs of Prayer, Stories of Faith” on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7 pm. David Haas is highly regarded as one of the preeminent authors and composers of liturgical music in our Church today. Some of his well-known pieces are You Are Mine, Blest Are They, and Song of the Lord’s Command, to name a few. Information and tickets (only $10 in advance, $15 at the door) are available on our parish website and attached is a flyer with all of the details. We are pleased to offer a light reception following the concert and hope you and your guests will be able to join us for this very special evening!

“St. Mary’s Catholic Church Registration” Parish registration takes place monthly on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 pm or some weekdays at 7 pm in the Bishop Sullivan Room. During this one-hour program, you will meet other parishioners, our Pastor and staff, receive an introduction to St. Mary’s Parish and complete the registration documents. Childcare and refreshments are provided.
Our registration will take place on September 8, 2019
