An Evening with Jennifer Pharr Davis
September 21 @ 6:30 pm
What trail will you blaze? Finding God’s purpose for your life.
This event is also the Go Forth! 5K & Kids’ Fun Run Packet Pick-Up for registered participants. Anyone is invited to attend–you do not have to be pre-registered for the Go Forth! 5k (but we hope you do!).
In 2011, Jennifer Pharr Davis became the overall record holder on the Appalachian Trail. By hiking 2,181 miles in 46 days – an average of 47 miles per day – she became the first female to ever set that mark.
But her journey was about more than just records or numbers; it was about endurance and faith, and most of all love. The most amazing part of this story is not found at the finish, but is discovered through the many challenges, lessons and relationships that present themselves along the trail.
At age 24, Jennifer founded Blue Ridge Hiking Company to help everyone – especially women – experience the joy and wonder of spending time in the woods. Twelve years later, Jennifer has been named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, one of Men’s Journal‘s 25 Most Adventurous Women of the Past 25 Years, and the Asheville Area Chamber’s 2019 Female Entrepeneur of the Year. She has grown as an author and speaker, and in 2020 she played a key role in the IMAX film Into America’s Wild, narrated by Morgan Freeman.
