C o n s t i t u t i o n Day!
Saint Mary’s will celebrate Constitution Day on Wednesday, September 17th. Students will gather at the flagpole at 8:00 AM for prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and song in celebration of our nation’s founding document. Students have been learning about the Constitution with a variety of grade level appropriate activities.
This will be a “red, white and blue” tag day – students may wear tag day clothing in those three colors. A three dollar contribution to the school to be used for social studies texts and materials allows students to participate in the tag day. Contributions should be sent to the homeroom teachers on Monday, September 15th in an envelop marked “Constitution Day Tag Day”. Tag day clothing is acceptable for Mass at 9:00 AM.
Parents are welcome to attend the morning activities at the flagpole (parish hall in the event of inclement weather) which should last no more than 1/2 hour.
Homeroom parents will arrange for a “red, white and blue” treat to celebrate the Constitution. Each classroom will determine the best time (snack time, lunch time or other time) to enjoy the snack.
Happy Constitution Day!
