[Updated 08-06-2020]

Listed below are documents describing our reopening plans and guidelines for Fall 2020. We hope you find these to be informative. Information is changing daily and therefore we anticipate updates to each of these as information changes. We thank everyone for their support and shared responsibility to arrive on campus free of symptoms, with a mask and ready to physically distance.

Return to School Readiness Checklist

This checklist is created by the Center for Catholic Education at Loyola University – Chicago. It is a framework which allows us to assess many areas of Saint Mary’s Catholic School and to provide us with guidance in several domains. Saint Mary’s Catholic School has been able to work though many of these domains as we prepare to open in August 2020.

Reopen 2020 Overview

Saint Mary’s is quite fortunate to have faculty, teachers and family who can deliver love and learning amid the most difficult situations. As we look to reopen our wonderful school, we have added new protocols and expectations on our campus. This resource is an overview of our much larger manual which appears below.

Reopening 2020 Manual

This manual represents our detailed plan for reopening Saint Mary’s Catholic School this fall. Please review the detailed information to understand our careful planning and cooperation between faculty and families for a successful reopening.

Phase I/II Fully Remote Overview

While we are currently in Phase III and will return to in-person learning, five days a week, we have written a plan that has us prepared to move to a more fully remote environment should the governor move us to Phase 1 or Phase 2. March 2020 showed the flexibility and resiliency of our amazing teachers. We went to remote learning overnight. Our teachers have attended a ‘Teach with Tech” virtual conference, participated in Office of Catholic Schools webinars on digital learning and provided structure to a remote instructional school day. We are excited for the preparations made for the sake of potential remote learning.

Office of Catholic School Update on face coverings

On August 13, 2020 Superintendent, Kelly Lazarra distributed an updated to the OCS face covering policy.
