After School Care Director
Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Richmond is seeking an After School Care (ASC) Director for the 2019-2020 school year. We offer an enriching learning environment where students can complete homework and participate in other recreational and educational activities. Duties for this position include developing a schedule of activities, scheduling ASC personnel, maintaining proper attendance records, hiring ASC staff, executing performance evaluations and other required documentation, snack ordering, billing, and supervising all ASC participants and staff.
This position does require a fair amount of physical movement.
Required Qualifications: Successful candidates will have prior experience working with children in a group setting, be highly organized, be flexible and reliable, and have the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. Prior managerial experience is a plus as well as a current First Aid and CPR certificate. This position is offered Monday through Friday during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Instructional Resource Teacher
Saint Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a full-time Instructional Resource Teacher. This position will provide a coordinated approach to providing services to identified Junior Kindergarten through Eighth grade students, including direct instruction, cooperative strategies with classroom teachers, and other innovative support programs and strategies. The school Instructional Resource Teacher will oversee the student Learning Plan process from initiation to implementation. An important function of this position is to communicate and work with parents, teachers and others about the resources made available by Saint Mary’s as well as outside resources that can assist to provide support. Ability to read psychological and educational testing information and transfer that into student plans required. Knowledge and experience in administering formal and informal testing in reading preferred. This position will assist the principal with classroom observations, duty assignment, committee meetings and school strategic planning. Additionally, this position will own the implementation of PALS and Performance Series Test and will assist the principal in interpreting the data. Assisting with student behavior management plans and student discipline will be included in responsibilities of this role. Use of SIS software, and teacher observation practices is required. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the school year. The candidate must be an organized individual, a strong communicator with all levels of our school family and have a desire to be in a Christ-centered environment. We offer an enriching learning environment where students can complete homework and participate other structured learning opportunities. Duties for this position include keeping proper supervision of After School Care participants, maintaining classroom order and discipline, as well as encouraging the engagement of students in fun and easy learning activities.
Required Qualifications: Successful candidates must have prior experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in a classroom or group setting, be flexible and reliable, and have the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. After School Care positions are offered Monday through Friday during the hours of 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Saint Mary’s school maintains a list of competent, qualified substitute teachers that are called upon to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitutes are paid on a per diem basis calculated on an hourly basis. Substitutes may apply to be added to the Saint Mary’s substitute list after an application is received, background screening is completed, and the candidate becomes familiar with classroom routines and school practices.
Long term substitutes (for absences such as family medical leave, extended leave, and other absences expected to exceed two or more weeks) are selected following the regular hiring procedures of Saint Mary’s Catholic School.
