Elementary School Teacher
Saint Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a full-time Elementary Teacher. This candidate will plan and implement innovative instructional practices that further the philosophy and goals of our school. The Elementary Teacher will also plan for both long and short-term instructional goals and will instruct and monitor student understanding and progress. The candidate will utilize test data to improve quality of instruction, as well as maintain accurate and current individual records of student progress and share this information regularly with parents, students and the principal. The candidate will also participate in staff meetings, conferences, professional development and other required school activities as directed. The candidate must participate actively in the spirit and life of our vibrant school community. The candidate must be an organized individual, a strong communicator with their peers and have a desire to be in a Christ-centered environment. Saint Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a part-time School Nurse. This position will assess student health conditions on a daily basis and provide assistance to sick and injured children. They will maintain a clean and fully-stocked clinic and ensure the safe-keeping of all medications. This position will also communicate information to parents, staff, and principal. The candidate must be a highly organized individual as they will be documenting incidents and keeping accurate records. They will also meet with parents to review medical authorization forms and ensure that all accurate information is kept on file. This position will also coordinate in-service training for staff as needed. The candidate must have a desire to be in a Christ-centered environment. After School Care Staff
Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Richmond is seeking several caring, motivated, and dedicated part-time After School Care staff members for the 2018 – 2019 school year. We offer an enriching learning environment where students can complete homework and participate other structured learning opportunities. Duties for this position include keeping proper supervision of After School Care participants, maintaining classroom order and discipline, as well as encouraging the engagement of students in fun and easy learning activities.
Required Qualifications: Successful candidates must have prior experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in a classroom or group setting, be flexible and reliable, and have the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. After School Care positions are offered Monday through Friday during the hours of 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Saint Mary’s school maintains a list of competent, qualified substitute teachers that are called upon to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitutes are paid on a per diem basis calculated on an hourly basis. Substitutes may apply to be added to the Saint Mary’s substitute list after an application is received, background screening is completed, and the candidate becomes familiar with classroom routines and school practices.
Long term substitutes (for absences such as family medical leave, extended leave, and other absences expected to exceed two or more weeks) are selected following the regular hiring procedures of Saint Mary’s Catholic School.
