The season of Lent is a time for prayer and preparation- we pray for spiritual renewal and a deeper relationship with God while we prepare to celebrate our risen Lord.  We also look forward to increased energy and brighter spirits that the warm weather will (hopefully!) soon bring.  The PTO has also been busy with prayer and preparation during this season.  As PTO secretary, I am honored to be involved in the many activities happening at St. Mary’s.  The PTO’s fundraising goals this year are to raise money for new playground equipment, classroom textbooks and novel sets. We are planning events such as the Monarch Ball on May 2nd, as well as spirit nights and a 5K fun run in the Fall.  The Monarch Ball gala is our major fundraising event and it promises to be a great time- please make plans to attend if you can!

We begin every PTO meeting with a prayer- we take time to set aside the distractions of the day and bring our focus on the students, teachers and staff of our community.  We devote our time and talents in order to serve our school- and we ask the same of each family at St. Mary’s.  Thankfully, there are many ways to serve and each family can choose activities that best fit their schedule.  Easter morning will soon arrive and our prayerful preparation will not be complete.  Even after Lent is over, we must continue to pray and prepare so that our community grows even stronger in fellowship and service for our children.
